Evacuated Tube Collectors
All these Evacuated Tube Collectors are supplied with a frame designed to fit on an inclined roof of tiles or corrugated metal (e.g. colorbond type). It also includes a 5 year warranty. They can be used as part of a thermosyphon or split system setup.
Below are the sizes available and the benefits of evacuated tubes over traditional flat plate panels.
Benefits:
- Reduced Heat Loss – The vacuum tube around the heat pipe significantly reduces loss of absorbed heat by conduction/convection.
- Tubular design – Absorbing light through greater angles of the sun, so even on cloudy cold days the collectors still provide hot water.
- Light weight – No structural issues mounting collector on roof.
- Separate Components – Tubes, Manifold (Header), Footer and Frame are easily assembled on site. No expensive lifting gear required!
- Replacement Parts – If for any reason breakage occurs (i.e. a cricket ball landing on the glass!!) individual collector parts can be replaced (tubes by yourself).
- Freeze Protection – Vacuum Tube collectors do not freeze in winter and are rated to perform at -15°C. [Note: Flat panels can only perform in frost conditions if an anti-freeze circuit is used, called indirect heating. This reduces their efficiency by a further 10%!]
- Appearance – No ugly tank or advertisement on your roof.
